Since Belarusian President had signed the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces Agreement, the Collective Security Treaty Organization regained its legitimacy. However, as in case of recognition of South Osetia and Abkhasia, it was demonstrated to the Kremlin that Russia had no power to influence post-Soviet states any longer and was not able to count on them in security and defense sphere.
