In contemporary academic didactics, greater and greater emphasis is laid upon written assignments, especially research-like essays. No doubt, this is one of the best ways for students to familiarize with particular topics and develop critical thinking. On the other hand, written assignments are extremely vulnerable to various dishonest practices, plagiarism being the most conspicuous.
The Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, in partnership with the Ostrogorski Centre, is launching a research project aimed at studying the forms and scale of plagiarism in Belarus, identifying its factors and developing practical recommendations for overcoming the problem.
